Vintage Baseball Card of the Day, E91 Set B, Orvill Overall
Orvill Overall has one of the best names ever in pro baseball! His name and likeness adorn this E91 Set B vintage baseball card, distributed by American Caramel between 1908 and 1910.
It seems that, according to this post on the Cal Bears site, and a NY Times article from the era, that the “e” was dropped off his first name on this E91-B baseball card. However, all other references (including baseball-reference.com and Wikipedia), to his name spell it as “Orval“.
